Ever wonder what life is like after the happily ever after?

Attention Devotion is the follow up story of Luke McCoy, Sierra Sellers and Cole Ackerley from Temptation. This will contain spoilers of the other books within the Club Destiny series.

For two very complex, very alpha men, life after love isn’t necessarily an easy thing to embrace. Although Sierra Sellers is, and will always be, the lifeline between Luke McCoy and Cole Ackerley, everyday life proves to be the true test of the bond the three of them have forged.

No one ever said that life was going to be rainbows and butterflies after the three of them admitted their love for one another. Between their own personal insecurities, a relationship that falls well outside what most people consider traditional, and a baby on the way, the three of them find out that there are still going to be a few ups and downs.

With insecurities comes doubt, and no matter what obstacles fall into their paths, the one thing the three of them aren’t willing to sacrifice is their devotion to one another.

Devotion Club Destiny Book 5 edition by Nicole Edwards Literature Fiction eBooks

This is one of those reviews where I wonder if others read a different book. While having enjoyed Ms Edwards other books, in this series, this one seemed like a real struggle for her to write. It reminded me of books by other popular authors where you can start to see them loose their edge, whether through a disconnect with their muse, a time table or greed. What stood out for me in this offering was the manufactured angst, mostly Cole's. While both Luke and Cole have some understandable challenges dealing with their developing relationship and their relationship with Sierra, nothing was convincingly broken and Cole came across as a whiny, petulant child. Sierra, flits through "sweetly" off and on, but this is mainly about Cole and Luke. There was lots of repetition (it seemed that Sierra was seldom mentioned without being described as sweet) and verbiage that added nothing to the story. Word count much? The book started with a prologue of numerous unnecessary pages about the baby being born, how perfect the baby is, how happy everyone is… Then it goes back several months in Chapter 1. Then the baby gets born again and the prologue is repeated about verbatim. Numerous repeats of what happened with the club in prior book became annoying. I wondered if there were multiple editors who would not have picked up on repetition. Another distraction was narrative that added nothing. While not an exact example a long segment like: "Luke picked up his keys, looked around for his cell phone, which was on the kitchen counter and put it in his pocket. He locked the front door as he left, opened the door to the truck, put on his seat belt, started the car and backed up." If the circumstances are right, long build ups can help add to the tension or suspense. But in this example, he was just going from A to B. So get him there already. More word counting?

Devotion Club Destiny Book 5 edition by Nicole Edwards Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I have often found that the middle movie of a trilogy is a bit slow. It's a necessary device to set up the final movie...the climax, if you will. But there's not a lot of action. That's kind of how I felt about this book. It was more a tying up of loose ends and giving some insight into other relationships in this series.

I like this book and feel it was needed. In the book Temptation I didn't always feel as though Cole was treated equally. I like that this was addressed in this book. There were other things in the Cole/Sierra/Luke dynamic that needed to be addressed and they were in this story.

What I said earlier about not a lot of action, I didn't mean the kind of action in the bedroom. There was plenty of that kind of action. And the sex scenes really helped solidify the ménage relationship on a more equal footing for all.

I'm really hoping the glimpses of Dylan we keep getting don't make me totally hate the guy before we get to his story. He is really ticking me off!

Rating 5 SWELTERING stars

Before even opening this book, I think I speak for many in that we were anxiously awaiting it's arrival on our reading devices. Well, the wait was soooo well worth it. Nicole took us to new heights and new lows felt from the tips of our heads to the tips of our toe nails. Luke, Sierra, and Cole are three of my all time favorite characters of Nicole's and I didn't think it was possible to fall more in love with them, but I did!! Cole is my man, so y'all better back up and HANDS-OFF!! I felt every single stinking emotion even hinted through Nicole's words. I was sobbing, laughing, sweating, and other things that you don't need to know about. Let's just say this, you know those absorbing towels you use at the car wash, one of those was needed!! I highlighted more in the book than I didn't, so I'm thinking from now on, Nicole just needs to write her books "highlighted" and then we can de-highlight the few parts that we want. I don't want to post any spoilers, so I'm going to try to hold myself back.

This book was highly anticipated for many reasons 1) because we all wanted more of Luke, Sierra, and Cole; 2) we all wanted to see how their relationship continued into their future especially with a baby on the way; 3) we all wanted to find out the "biological" father of their baby; 4) we wanted a first-hand experience to their baby's birth; & 5) we wanted more Luke, Sierra, & Cole hot, drop-your-%#@&# scenes! Nicole delivered and exceeded our wants and desires from Devotion. We got to experience the deep, deep, deep issues going on with all three of them and how they tried to come together to resolve these insecurities. I feel I connected more with Cole throughout this book and this was happily unexpected because I felt more connected to Luke in Temptation (Club Destiny #2). I won't go into these insecurities because I don't want to ruin it for others, but I will say that I "got" what Cole was feeling but I LOVED how Luke and Sierra responded to his thoughts and feelings. I would think things in my mind that I'd be feeling had I been in their shoes and then BAM there it was laid out on the pages. Therefore, this book was REAL and RELATABLE!! Those of us not in their type of relationship can only imagine what insecurities would be involved, but the togetherness and love felt between these three was leaping off the page at me, so much that I felt it. I think insecurities may come and go but how Luke, Sierra, and Cole have handled these bumps thus far gives me great hope that they'll always stay devoted to one another and work to find what makes them all the most happy, including what's best for their child. There were holy crap moments, ahhhh moments, sobbing moments, and smokin' moments. I can't wait to continue in this series and watch from a distance how Luke, Sierra, & Cole's relationship grows, but more importantly I can't wait to watch their child continue to grow....ohhh, I wonder what the first words will be!! The book ended perfectly and nothing was left unanswered and all my desires were met ten-fold.

I also can't wait to see pictures of two certain things from the book, so make sure you sign up for Nicole's Newsletter through her website www.nicedwardsauthor.com if you want to see these images as well!!

Here is the order to read all of Nic's books as she has two series that intertwine!!
